Gotten about 25~30 replies so far.

I don’t have any major updates as I haven’t gotten many replies yet.

Improving Conversation Flow & Script - Sales 101

I met with a follower of my journey today morning and one of the things we discussed was my approach to DMing people, the template I used, and the flow I had.

Here are some suggestions they made that I plan to apply:

  • Decrease friction

    • Right now they have to answer too many questions before I can start working.

    • My plan is to decrease the number of back and fourths needed by adding more context to initial message and asking questions in bulk in follow up.

  • Give them more information

    • So far the template has been: (Hey Name, would you be interested in learning about the gaps in your competitors products?)

The idea for the new message is to:

1) Tell them who I am briefly (Entrepreneur with several years of experience).

2) What I’m doing (Building a business that analyzes the weaknesses of competitors products).

3) My offer to them (Free analysis report in exchange for written or video testimonial)

4) Soft CTA (Would you be interested?, Would you like to learn more?, etc)

This is what the message would look like (off the top of my head):

“Hey name! I’m Neo, an entrepreneur with 5+ years of experience. I’m building a business that analyzes the weaknesses of competitors products or services and sends report on them.

I was reaching out to ask if you’d be interested in a free analysis of your competitors in exchange for a written (or video) testimonial?”

This is what I came up with off the top of my head but I could probably improve. I don’t like how much I talk about myself in the first part of the message and it seems too long.

Here is a alternative version:

“Hey name, I’m Neo. I help businesses like yours analyze the competitions products weaknesses. Would you be interested in a free report in exchange for a testimonial?”

Short, straight to the point. The first part might make it seem like I’m trying to get money from them but the second part offsets that with “free”.

I could also personalize further by:

  • Adding their companies name

    • I noticed you’re building X…

  • Mention how we can specifically help their company

    • I noticed you have a SAAS business that does X and Y seems to be a big competitor. We can analyze the pain points of Ys customers so you can run campaigns to target them.

  • Mention a common interest or creator followed

    • Noticed you followed Y creator, big fan of his as well.

I’m going to first try to the two message scripts I came up with above and if they don’t get good results, I will add an even more personal touch.

Plan is to send minimum of 400 messages using each script above then evaluate the results.

The personalization strategy will likely result in a loss of volume but increase in quality and conversions of leads.

I want to first still try and see if I can convert using high volume - play the numbers game in other words.
